How Makeup Can Ruin Your Wedding Day

Before getting into wedding planning, I was in the fast paced and ever changing makeup and fashion industry.

Being in the industry allowed me to work with many beautiful brides and one of the many things I learned as a makeup artist is that makeup trials are SUPER essential.

You may pay a little bit extra, probably $65-$125, but the expense is 100% worth it. If you are the kind of bride that never wears makeup, then a trial is not an option, you definitely need to book one for God’s sake :).

Every bride wants to look gorgeous on their wedding day and there are tons of qualified and great makeup artist out there.

The problem sometimes is not choosing a bad makeup artist, well that too, but most of the time the problem lays on the fact that the bride is not used to seeing herself with makeup on.

The makeup artist can do a beautiful job, but we all have different tastes and it’s better to see in advance how you’re going to look like instead of having unexpected surprises on your wedding day.

Your wedding day most likely will have a timeline to follow and if you don’t like your makeup, then you will start to freak out and stress.

Not to mention, the makeup artist will be under pressure as well and probably not perform as fluidly trying to find a look in hopes that you will like it.

I’ve heard stories where brides complain that the day of their wedding they didn’t look like themselves.

So ladies, if you want to experiment with makeup, your wedding day is not the day to do this. You have plenty of time to do trials.

Another piece of advice is to not try anything on your face such as treatments (face peelings, laser, etc.), tanning beds or products at least two months prior your big day.

You don’t want to break out or have any bad reactions a few days before your wedding.

Makeup is great for cover ups but it can only work up to a certain degree. Makeup comes from inside so instead of trying new things, start by eating healthier, drinking lots of water and this will reflect on your skin for a perfect makeup application.

If you follow these simple tips, you will look and feel incredible on your wedding day. Not to mention looking at your wedding pictures will be completely enjoyable instead of a nightmare reminding you of regret.
