1. Ignoring Your Budget When it comes to wedding planning, it’s easy to get caught up looking at venues or vendors. It’s also key to set a budget before you undergo any sort of planning.

Without carefully sticking to your budget, you can find yourself spending your entire budget before you have even completed half of the things you need to do. This can be an extremely stressful situation, so it’s important to always keep your budget in mind when planning.

2. Wedding Dress Mishaps Of course your wedding dress is one of the most important aspects of your wedding, however, don’t let it become your only focus. Often times, brides may blow much of their budget just on their wedding dress, forgetting other factors that come along with it, such as the veil, shoes, or jewelry.

It’s also important to order your dress with ample amount of time. Along with this, scheduling fittings throughout the planning period can ensure all changes (weight loss, gain, etc.) are accounted for. The last thing you want to be stressing about is your dress not fitting right.

3. Disregarding Stationary Although things such as your save-the-dates may seem less important when you compare them to your dress or guest list, these give your guests a first glimpse into your wedding, and set the tone as well.

If your budget allows, you could consider hiring a calligrapher or obtaining embellishments, especially if you are attempting to achieve a more luxurious wedding. Although this will cost more, guests will be able to tell you put a lot of thought into your invitations, which only increases their excitement towards your special day. 4. Skipping on a Videographer One of the most common regrets couples have after their wedding, is not spending more on getting a videographer. Sure photos are nice, but they can only capture so much.

Having a video of your wedding allows you to relive your special day, and you can see moments that you might have missed out on. However, if you’re on a budget, it may be wise to skip this step, as pictures can still commemorate this moment, without breaking your budget.

5. Sweating the Small Stuff There’s so many small things that go into a wedding, but don’t allow yourself to get caught up in these small things. We frequently see couples fret about small details with their wedding, whether it be on guests, centerpieces, or floral arrangements. Something to consider revolves around meditation.

Simply bringing the bridal party together for a short meditation session prior to starting the day could set a relaxed tone for the entire wedding. Stress may take away from the whole reason you’re there; to get married to the love of your life.

Ultimately, take a deep breath, relax, and don’t forget to be present for your special day!
