This week I sat down with the awesome Chris Anger (a.k.a my husband), owner of Wedding Lights & Beyond in Delray Beach, FL.

There are different approaches you can take in order to transform your wedding venue and lighting is one of them. Lighting is not only more affordable than certain other decor such as flowers, but they can definitely change the wedding decor ideas from ordinary to extraordinary.

From creating a winter wonder-land wedding, a colorful and fun theme, or an elegant and warm wedding, lights will certainly help you achieve your vision.

"It is highly recommended to book a venue walk-through with your wedding planner," Chris added. This step is imperative since you and your planner will brainstorm ideas and come up with your wedding concept so that you can share that with your lighting company.

Lighting professionals would not only do the job, but they will advise you on the best route to take to achieve your vision.

Sometimes you can transform the venue by adding lights to your centerpieces, to your sweetheart table, to the walls, and/or ceilings, you name it. Whatever ambience you envision for your wedding you will probably be able to achieve it with lighting.

In order to do this there are different techniques you can use depending on the feel you want; from up lights, to pin spot lights, to gobo projectors with monogram logos to string lights.

Reminder* - Sometimes DJ’s will offer you lighting however, don’t get confused because most of the time they will only bring lights to enhance their area and the dance-floor, and not for the whole venue (unless the DJ has a lightning company as well).
