Getting married at Old School Square - Delray Beach, FL

Nowadays more couples are looking for alternatives for a wedding venue besides the standard hotel ballroom. You may desire a venue that represents who you are; somewhere where you can create a one-of-a-kind atmosphere and experience for your big day.

This week I had the pleasure to visit the gorgeous Old School Square in Delray Beach. I was greeted by Leanne Griffith (Director of Events), Michelle Cordes (Food & Beverage Manager) and Holland Ryan (Technical Director). Right away I felt very welcome and at home! They gave me a tour while explaining all about the property such as the museum and its other rooms and vast areas.

One of the things that stood out to me about this particular property is the selection of areas to choose from within the premises. They have a great selection of indoor and outdoor options to have your ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. They can accommodate all types of weddings from small to large and that's a big plus.

If you choose to have your ceremony indoors, and have 80 guests or more, they offer the "Crest Theatre" which is a truly unique alternative! I love the idea of getting married on stage while guests are seated in the audience witnessing you tying the knot.

You can have a charming backdrop and the whimsical lights of the theater will create that extra special touch making you both the center of attention. When you mix all these elements together you will feel as if you’re creating your own story and your guests are part of it.

If you are having a smaller wedding or simply are not a big fan of theaters or stages, then the Ocean Breeze Room would be perfect! I think this location is stunning since it offers tons of windows and natural light. If you want to accomplish more of a romantic feel, you can opt to put the shades down.

I think it's great when venues have alternatives for all the different styles and tastes!

There is plenty of outdoor space as well. The entrance of the museum is truly my favorite, as it has arch-like columns that give a classy feel that perhaps, couples considering a museum are looking for.

If you’re wanting an indoor reception, then the Fieldhouse would be the place! You can really transform it to create your vision, from drapery, to lights and decor, you can definitely make this place unparalleled!

The Fieldhouse also has a second floor where the bride, groom, and wedding party can commence the grand entrance.

I can go on and on describing all the pros of this place, but I think the best bet is to experience it with your own eyes! I’m sure that if you decide to have your wedding there, it will be an unforgettable and unique experience that your guests will be raving about!
